Roger Waters sets out on his Us + Them North American Tour starting on May 26th, in which he’ll be supporting his newest album entitled “Is This The Life We Really Want?“. Roger has been quite active in his promotion, participating in lengthy interviews, posting videos and updates on his Twitter page, and – most importantly – allowing us to hear some short (but satisfying) samples from his latest album.

The previews don’t contain any vocals, but I’ll be damned if they don’t sound like Roger’s in top songwriting form. There’s a mellow, introspective feel that you’ll instantly recognize as the Pink Floyd trademark sound.
While I’m a massive David Gilmour fan and would be able to die quite happily if they were to write music again together, I’m going to say that this sounds like the next best thing to me (The Division Bell is a true Pink Floyd album in my opinion – The Final Cut and A Momentary Lapse of Reason never happened).
Roger Waters had this to say of the upcoming tour:
“It’ll be a mixture of stuff from my long career, stuff from my years with Pink Floyd, some new things. Probably 75% of it will be old material and 25% will be new, but it will be all connected by a general theme. It will be a cool show, I promise you. It’ll be spectacular like all my shows have been.”
The release date for “Is This What We Really Want?” is May 19th.
